We'll help you assess alignment with TAF's priorities and flag potential supports — or point you to a better-suited pathway. -
3. Expression of Interest (EOI)
If your work aligns, we'll invite you to submit a short proposal. This helps us assess the impact on emissions, scalability, and equity considerations.
We give detailed feedback at this stage — expect substantive input, not just a pass/fail.
Then Get Funding

1. Full Application
We invite strong EOIs to submit a Full Application with details on approach, team, budget, timeline, and expected outcomes.

Final decisions are made approximately 8–10 weeks after the Full Application deadline.

When are grant application deadlines?
TAF reviews grant applications twice a year. Current cycles: Winter 2026 (EOI and Full Application Feb 20) and Summer 2026 (EOI and Full Application April 20).
When are grant funding decisions made?
Final decisions are made approximately 8–10 weeks after the Full Application deadline.
What does TAF fund?
We fund work that contributes to measurable GTHA carbon reductions, has potential to scale or replicate, aligns with equity principles, and is led by a qualified partner organization.
What will TAF not fund?
We generally do not fund projects without a GTHA emissions pathway, activities that lack additionality, partisan advocacy, or core operating shortfalls disconnected from a specific low-carbon project.
What are eligible expenses?
Eligible expenses typically include project staff time, contractors, materials, community engagement, and evaluation tied directly to the funded work. See the Budget Template for guidance.
How do I submit my application?
Start with a conversation, then submit through Bonfire when invited. Downloadable forms and guides are listed above for reference while you prepare.
Which application form should I use?
Use the Expression of Interest Form first. Strong EOIs may be invited to a Full Application (Standard) or a Concept Development Form for earlier-stage ideas.
How do you estimate the emissions impact of my project?
We follow GHG Protocol standards and track impact over a 20-year horizon. Use the Carbon Quantification Guide to prepare estimates for your EOI and Full Application.
