Joint Letter on the Clean Fuel Standard Regulatory Design Paper

February 2019. Government of Canada. The Atmospheric Fund collaborated with Clean Energy Canada, David Suzuki Foundation, and Pembina Institute, with support from other environmental organizations, to submit a joint letter to Environment Minister Catherine McKenna in response to the 2018 Regulatory Design Paper.

We have proposed recommendations on key policy elements of the regulatory design, including the timely integration of indirect land use change accounting into the program and the recycling of revenues to further electric vehicle adoption. These changes will help Canada meet its 2030 climate target and accelerate its transition to a low-carbon economy.
