TransformTO Modelling Report

April 2017. At the heart of the TransformTO climate plan lies a detailed modelling of 36 low-carbon actions to reach Toronto’s 2050 climate target. Conducted by the Sustainability Solutions Group and whatIf? Technologies in collaboration with the City of Toronto and The Atmospheric Fund, the modelling examined a business-as-planned scenario as well as a low-carbon scenario to determine the best pathway for reaching the city’s climate target of reducing carbon emissions by 80 per cent by 2050. The modelling findings formed the basis of the staff report and recommendations that were unanimously adopted by Toronto City Council in July 2017.
